Today I would like to write about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. We are not lazy hypochondriacs. We suffer from debilitating fatigue, headaches, back pain and a variety of other maladies. Many of us also suffer from Fibromyalgia. Many people still believe that this is made up or that we are faking. I wish that we were, believe me. I cannot afford to not work. Every day is a struggle. I get up and do what I have to do for my kids even though they and my husband get angry with me for saying that I am tired or that my legs hurt or I have a headache. Would they get angry with me if I had cancer or some other disease that is better known? I wish that we could make these disorders more public. How can we increase public awareness?

JCP: immune to anti bullying laws?

I was appalled to see that JC Penney has succumbed to the pressures of a fanatical group called "One Million Moms". What about the billions of moms who are trying to instill in their children the values that diversity is important and that discrimination against anyone is wrong? Why is a group of moms allows to be bullies? Furthermore, why is a major company agreeing with them?
   In this time of anti bullying awareness and in the wake of many suicides by children bullied for being gay, why on earth would JCP promote this?

     Ohhh, Bring on the weekend! The end of a long week at last. Nothing to do tomorrow! I love long, lazy winter Saturdays. Lifetime movies and naps!

winter blues and fibromyalgia

           For those of us who suffer from fibromyalgia, work full time and take care of a family, winter can be a tough, tough time. I would like to blog about this disorder and it's sufferers. To most people we look fine. When we suffer and tell someone, people roll their eyes. They think that we are faking. This is very frustrating and heartbreaking. My husband does not understand that I live in constant pain and suffer from debilitating fatigue on a daily basis. 
         I awake at 4:45 am every day to get ready for work. I get the kids ready for school and go to work as a spanish teacherb at an innercity high school. I pick the kids up, get dinner ready, take them to activities, clean up, do laundry ect... I am utterly worn out by the time the day is done.
I do not want another person to tell me to exercise. I do not want another person to ask why I am so tired. I do not want another person to tell me to take vitamins. I want someone to understand what this condition is like.
